Self Hosting!

After a lot of thinking, Praying, and researching, I have decided Lifewithanillness is making the transformation to self hosting. My blogs have really flourished, and I truly cannot thank you all enough for all of the love and support I have received. Not only am I trying to help others but in turn you all have helped me. Words can’t describe how amazing my blogging journey has gone so far. I have decided to switch because I think this is the next step for me and my blog. I will be switching to wordpress.org, and with that you will no longer receive an email, notifying you that I have made a post. If you would still like to get an email whenever I post, please head to my website, and at the bottom hit follow my blog via email! From my understanding, you will still see my posts in the reader. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart for all of the amazing support, and the new friends I have made along the way! Lets continue this journey, and make a difference together!

  1. Congratulations Mackenzie! Please let us know how the switch goes….Iโ€™ve been thinking about going self-hosted but I worry about having problems and not knowing how to fix them. You young folks are much more tech-savvy than I am.๐Ÿ˜Š

    1. Thank you so much! I will let you know! I actually am not tech savvy either so I found a free service they can switch it for you! Here is the link and you just scroll to the bottom and hit yes I want a free blog set up and fill out the stuff! ๐Ÿ˜Šhttp://www.wpbeginner.com/free-wordpress-blog-setup/

        1. This one you follow by email. There’s a skinny bar that says follow my blog. Then below that at the bottom of my home page it says follow my blog via email you click on it and then you enter your email address.

  2. I switched to self hosting about a year ago as well! my subscribers didnโ€™t have to resubscribe โ€“ they still received the email notification once I transferred. Hopefully itโ€™s the same for you!
And, if you have any questions about self-hosting or transferring your blog, let me know!

    1. Okay perfect! That makes me happy! I am having WordPress switch it and I was told to make a post regarding my switch with my followers. So I’m glad they could still receive emails!

  3. Hi
You’re like a Rocket Ship going straight from here!!!!!!!! I have no doubt this was a good move for you. This post did show up on Survivors if I remember correct. This has been a rough cognitive week. We’re a team! M

    1. Thank you so much i appreciate that!! I have heard different things some people have success and their followers still receive emails so I hope that happens!๐Ÿ˜Š

  4. Wayhey – fab news! You do get a little more choice and freedom with self-hosting. Give me a shout (invisiblyme@outlook.com) if you need any recommendations or help (not that I’m that great with the whole blogging malarky!) but I’ve used two providers now and learned a bit long the way. You’re doing brilliantly so this is a great step towards sharing, helping and reaching more people ๐Ÿ™‚
    xx

  5. I was self-hosting The Aspie Chronicle…..as I have Aspergers….. then decided to go .com but have reverted to the wordpress.com. Hope it all works out.

  6. Woohoo! This is awesome news ๐Ÿ™‚ The next step for you! I hope you enjoy continued success, and I’ll head over to the new site to hit the “follow” button there xo

  7. Welcome to WordPress! Thanks for the page love and for all the encouragement you share through your writing. Blogging has been a gift to me also. I’ve met some kind, resilient and funny people. Loving it. Happy Friday.

          1. The prefix Mac is “son of” so, that was weird to me. People would put the Mac in front of mine. I’m no one’s son.
